Recurring "Processes are currently being run that cannot be deleted" with one user

Environment (let me know if you need more)

Server: GP 2013 R2 on a Win 2012 R2 server.

User: GP 2013 on Win7 Workstation

I have 1 user that keeps receiving the error message "Processes are currently being run that cannot be deleted. These processes must be run to completion before you exit"

This has happened for a 2 Bank Recs, a Bank Decrease Adjustment. They go to posting and get stuck on 'Printing' status. They are printing to a printer (as opposed to screen) from what I can tell.  I've checked the user's printer setup and it seems correct. They don't have any ongoing issues with printing.  

I am aware of how to get rid of the stuck process, however this is the only user that seems to repeat the issue, but its not able to be replicated. It doesn't do this for every posting/transaction - just every week or so.

Hi All,

I have a client on GP 2015 R2, 14.00.0817, using the web client. They receive the subject line message when trying to post a General ledger batch from the web client.

When they use the desktop client the journal posts normally.

This seems to indicate that all setups are correct. The web client user is a Full user and is setup as Power user.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what to check to remedy this situation?

Not to feel alone, one of my customers using AA randomly receive a similar message when posting payables transactions, haven't found the cause as so random.

AA Primary Key SQL errors in GP 2015

Since we've upgraded to GP 2015 from GP 2010, we are receiving random SQL errors when posting batches:

[Microsoft]SQL Server Native Client 11.0][SQL Server]Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint 'PKAAG10001'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'dbo.AAG10001'. The duplicate key value is (488461,4).[Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 11.0][SQL Server]Viol

I found this Microsoft article:  https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/897280 - I downloaded the script from Resolution Method 1 and applied to our Production databases, however, we are still getting these errors.  Upon clicking OK on the error, the batch does actually post just fine  - these errors appear to be more of an annoyance than anything, but SQL errors always concern me.

Rather than working around the issue as Microsoft suggests, does anyone know what may be actually causing these errors to pop-up in the first place?

Lisa,

One other step I found was to have any Date Columns to the left of any Value columns in the Smartlist, as sometimes the export causes issues with quantity values.

This was when using a custom created view for the Smartlist.  

We still get the problem with the quantity fields not appearing as values in excel.

Smartlist Designer Custom Smartlist and Export to Excel Error

Has anyone encountered an issue when developing a custom SL using Smartlist Designer that when you export to Excel, the following error message is received? 
“Excel found unreadable content in '2015122-17153.xlsx' Recover the contents of this workbook..."
If I click yes to recover the data, I receive the following status message: 
The data is in Excel but all the QTY and Currency fields appear as text, dates appear as =DATE(2015, 1, 22). 
I receive the error on my test VM machine, the client’s server, and on a user’s machine. In all environments, Excel 2010 is being used.
I created a SQL View to pull the necessary data, made sure the DYNGRP role has SELECT ON access to the SQL View.
I only receive the error message when exporting the custom SL to Excel – all pre-built SL export with no issues.  I created 2 custom Smartlists - both in the Purchasing module, one from the existing Receiving Line Items SL and one from the SQL View I created – both generate the export error.  
To continue to troubleshoot, I created another Custom SL using the AccountTransactions view. It doesn’t generate the error message but it does convert the debit and credit amount to text instead of currency. I did one using the Items By Site and it does the same thing with the QTY fields – converts them to text. It only converts them back to integer if F2 is pressed to edit the cell. 
Any thoughts on the error message?

Hi Jim

Use Setting Exact Match mode with the setting as NoPrintDialogs and the Value as FALSE.

As long as you understand that this can have negative effects on Named Printers (which you said you were not using), then that is fine.

Hi Mick,

Can you run Dynamics GP as Administrator by right click on GP icon and see if it VBA code is executing or not. If yes then probably user access issue.

Sandip,

Tried all those combinations, run as administrator, UAC off.  Deleted all the VBA files in the GP2013 folder.

If we connect to the machine using RDP with mstsc /admin, still can experience the same problem.

VBA Not Loading Every time

We have an issue since upgrading to GP2013 (1745) where the VBA will not load Everytime.

The GP Client is located on machine where the users access through an RDS App.

Even when logged onto the machine directly, the VBA may not load every time.

We setup a new remote machine and the same issue occurs.

The VBA project in Excel is available, so we figured the issue is on the Dynamics GP side.

Has anyone experienced this sort of issue, or any recommendations.

Dear All,

Please consider this scenario:

  • Currency of receiving FA items shipment is Euro
  • Debit Clearing 1k Euro Credit Payable 1k Euro
  • Functional currency is USD
  • Create FA in FA Module
  • (Debit FA 1k*1.14 USD, Credit Clearing 1k USD)
  • Here i am not able to close the clearing account.
  • i am using gp 2013.

I delete it from SQL and when i want delete from front end its give error jentry already posted.

After deletion i run checklinks of finaicial, but same error in posting "

Hi Babu,

I have seen this error in previous cases, I would like to gather some additional information to best assist on this issue.

1. Are you getting this error on the IIS server where Business Portal is installed?

2. Is the user you are logged in as the person who did the initial install of Business Portal?

3. Do you have all of the Active X controls for the Intranet enabled?

4. Are you able to launch the WSS site (take /sites/businessportal out of the URL)?

5. Just to verify, when you are launching Business Portal, you are launching iismachine/.../Businessportal

**Replacing IISMACHINE with the appropriate name of the BusinessPortal server name.

6. When this test installation of BP was done, was the user logged into the server a Domain Administrator?

7. Can you connect to the top level of Sharepoint on the server by entering localhost?

8. Where in Business Portal are you receiving this error?

Lise

It usually happened when system goes through the upgrade process and the record usually added by the utility. I suggest you to see in your back up db which you must have taken before upgrade and check the right record which you need to retain and delete the other one after taking backup of both records.

While going through GP->Tools->Routine->Fixed Asset->GL we are getting the following error and could not able to trace the cause of it .

"An error occurred executing SQL" "GPS Error: 18"

"SQL Error: 512" [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0][SQL Server]Subquery returned more than one value."

"ODBC Error: 21000"

Thanks for your kind reply.  Please see my answer below.

1. Are you getting this error on the IIS server where Business Portal is installed?

Yes I am getting the same error on the business portal server (end user also gets the same error)

Yes thats correct I logged to BP server as administrator (the same user to install BP)

3. Do you have all of the Active X controls for the Intranet enabled?

Where do I check this I checked on internet explorer and most of them enabled and some of them disabled, or let me know where can I get this information.

4. Are you able to launch the WSS site (take /sites/businessportal out of the URL)?

When I do this I am getting timeout error

Business Portal - Server Error

Dear All,

For last one month we are constantly having problem with Business portal and its stops working.  The error we got is Server Error in '/' Application.  The following troubleshot has been done.

1) SQL Server(Sharepoint) restarted - and after 15 min the business portal start working

2) Overall the Business portal server is very slow CPU is running high almost 90 to 100%(but not able to confirm what is the cause of this issue) nothing else on this server, SQL server occupies most of the memory.

3) The server has 4gb RAM

This was working all fine 3 weeks ago, so not sure what is causing this issue.

I have already checked this link from community.

Convert requisitions to PO's

Migrated from GP2010 to GP2015R2 and migrated from BP to workflow 2.0

I have a purchasing department that handles all the PO creation after the requisition is complete. I can't find how to give them access to generate the PO from the requisition.

I have created a list view that shows all requisitions but they don't have the purchase button. (Still not sure at 100% that everything shows in the list) and if they go in the purchase requisition inquiry, the button purchase is there but GP tells me that the user doesn't have the security to open the window

What security do they need to be able to generate the PO's ?
