Hi all,

@ Ali & Lucas yes i already done the Alternate/Modified Forms and gave access to the user security.

@ Leslie i don't get any error rather than what is attached in the screen shot and after that error pops up i cant close the Dynamics GP and i have to do it the hard way by the task manager.

It's now been over 24 hours and I still haven't heard from Microsoft (IT MBS SUPPORT) about resolving this issue. Although I have managed to get hold of Dynamics GP 2018 from a colleague, no one has the January Hotfix which I need for upgrading one of our customers. I also need to do a triple upgrade, and need access to Dynamics GP 2013 January Hotfix (v12.0.2230 - KB4073323), Dynamics GP 2016 RTM, Dynamics GP 2016 January Hotfix (v16.00.0675 - KB4073327).

I have already lost 2 days out of the allotted 3 days I have for upgrading the customer's UAT environment.

I need to get this software urgently else I'm in big trouble. I'm stressing big time.

I don't know to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for your response...

I am replying on behalf of Mr. Dany because he is out of office.

We've checked the suggested solution in the link you kindly provided, and we have some comments:

  1. We don't know the table that is related to 'VerifyTrxTotals' and 'UPR_Batch_ID_Lookup_Scroll SCROLL_FILL'. in the provided link, the Posting Definitions Master table SY00500 is the one related to 'VerifyBatchTotals' and 'Batch_Lookup_Scrolling_Window SCROLL_FILL'
  2. I am suspecting some tables, but I could not drop and recreate them, because I am not sure that they the concerned ones, and also I am not sure what data we would lose.
  3. We only tried to "Recompile" the tables in GP & Human Resources Module... but in vain.

It would be highly appreciated if you can help us with specifying the concerned table(s), so we can copy its (their) data and drop/recreate it (them)...

Hey All,

When i go to the  Transaction >payroll> Bonus and click lookup Scroll for Batch Number show the massage error :

Unhandled script exception:
Index 0 of array 'VerifyTrxTotals' is out of range in script

'UPR_Batch_ID_Lookup_Scroll SCROLL_FILL'. Script terminated.

Try again but this time tell them you have confirmed that the issue is on their end as you have contacts who have been told by Microsoft employees that the download servers are down. I can see they have been working on this as they now present a message that the file is not available so they know.

A couple of our GP users are unable to save their Trial Balances. Reports > Financial > Trial Balance. On the TB window you select Default, insert it, then click on "Modify". On the next window under "Range" select an existing range, Click on Destination, select file, name the file you want to save and select Comma delimited. Click OK. No file is generated

Hi Craig,

I can supply you with the 2013 January update (KB4073323) if you PM me.. I'm not current on the other versions as 2013R2 is what we currently run in production, though I'd have the 2018 RTM image too, but you said you already have that.

Logo change in GP reports

Hi All,

we need to modify the logo in some of the GP reports,can we do it it report editor itself or we need to modify in dexterity.

i have not seen any option to add new picture through the resources tab in report editor.i have tried to add our new logo by using existing logo properties window.But i am unable to see how to add our new image in properties.

Please suggest me on this as we have immediate deliverable and have not worked on reports earlier.

When I setup my Dynamics GP to run/use O365 for regular email functionality, I had to do the following:

1. Make sure System Preferences window is set to EXCHANGE, not MAPI.

2. Since I was using O365, I had to configure Exchange Online, and used a User ID such as Derek@DynamicsGP.onmicrosoft.com.

3. I also looked at the DYNAMICS..SY04920 table and verified that my Exchange_Server_URL is correct for my USERID.

  **NOTE: If you copy the Exchange_Server_URL into a browser window, it should render a service landing page where it shows a svcutil.exe link and some C# code, etc.

When you log in to the Exchange window in GP, GP asks AutoDiscover for the EWS URL. AutoDiscover gives the URL back, and then GP passes the credentials to that URL. GP then stores that URL in the SY04920.

The next time you log in, it takes that URL and does a quick check to see if the URL and your credentials are valid. If the URL doesn’t work, GP passes your credentials back to AutoDiscover to get the new EWS URL. If the URL in SQL is wrong, GP will ask AutoDiscover for a new one.

4. If using a regular Exchange Server and not O365 Exchange Online, I'd also verify whether the user's UPN and email address are set to the same thing, as currently it is a requirement of Autodiscover for these to match and since Dynamics GP uses Autodiscover to get the EWS URL, it is a requirement of Dynamics GP.

    a. For the user you've elected to be the 'test account', log into the Domain Controller and make sure the email suffix is added to the domain as an alternate domain suffix:

        1. In Active Directory Domains and Trusts, right-click on 'AD Domains and Trusts' and verify under the 'UPN Suffixes' tab, that the email suffix is added to the domain as an alternate domain suffix.

        2. Add the suffix for your email address as an alternate here, click the Add button. This process makes the email suffix available to choose in the next step.

    b. In Active Directory Users & Computers, right-click on your test user and go into Properties. Under the 'Account' tab, the same email suffix you setup above, will now be available to choose for the User Logon Name.

        1. Set the User Logon Name as your email address. For example, if your email address is admin2@email-domain.com, your screen setup should show under User Logon Name:

              Field1: admin2         Field2: @email-domain.com

    c. Once the email address and UPN match, attempt the logon through Dynamics GP's Exchange Logon window again, and see if that now works.

    ***NOTE: For using O365 Exchange Online with Dynamics GP, as mentioned in my previous case update, I didn't have to setup any of this***

I'd start with the above and see if any of this helps with getting O365 working with the Dynamics GP email functionality.

E-mail setup - Cannot connect to Exchange Server

Hello,

I'm testing e-mailing on a Citrix desktop and am not able to get Dynamics GP 2016 R2 to recognize the E-mail account.  I'm able to open Outlook 2016 and set up the AD account I'm logged in as the E-mail account.  I can send and receive e-mail on that account.

In Dynamics GP System Preferences the Mail Server type = Exchange.  They advise their e-mail system is on O365.

When clicking on Admin> Setup > Company > E-mail Settings > Sales Settings, I'm prompted to enter my password for the e-mail account, then it tries to connect.  After 2 minutes, it comes back and says "Connection to the MAPI Server is not available.  Unable to send e-mail or select addresses."

Office client for Outlook 2016 is 64 bit so I am expecting it to connect since the server type is Exchange.  We haven't tried with the 32-bit Outlook client application.  Client has been asked to turn on Outlook Autodiscover and report that has been completed.  I just tested using instructions in this blog and it keeps coming back and prompting me for the account password and never 'discovers'.

Please advise next steps.  I am thinking it's the 32 bit Outlook client, but since they are on Citrix, changing the installed applications is somewhat of a challenge so want to avoid going backwards to 32-bit if at all possible.

RE: MR Consolidated Reporting - Different Functional currencies

Yes, you can generate a consolidated report in MR.  MR will report in the functional currency.  So, if you have a USD and CAD company, you'd see the amounts from each company in its functional currency.  If you wanted to see both companies consolidated into one currency, you need to have currency translation set up in GP and then add the currency you want to see the report in, to the MR report format.  

The KB article below has steps for setting up currency translation in GP.  There are also links in the article to a blog series on how the different rate types are calculated.

Good Day,

If I have multiple companies on GP with different functional currencies, can I generate consolidated financials with this?

The companies would not need to be in the same functional or reporting currency for MR to consolidate them.  Let's say that I have two companies, one with a functional currency of USD and another with CAD.  I want to consolidate them and see the amounts in USD.  In my CAD company, I would need to have an exchange rate set up between CAD and USD.  In MR, I would need to select the USD currency in the Currency Display cell of the column definition.  I can add both companies to the report tree and when the report is generated, both companies would display in USD.

i.e. Does all companies on my instance need to have:

- The same reporting currency or

-The same functional currency
