Hello:
Yesterday, for Management Reporter 2012, I switched from the Data Mart to the Legacy Provider. I have both in place, though I'm trying to use the Legacy Provider since the figures have been more accurate.
I'm generating an income statement which, of course, contains a reporting tree pointing to all company databases.
Although each company has a functional currency assigned, I'm getting an error message upon printing this statement for some of the foreign entities when I want to show their currency translation into US Dollars (USD). The error says that "Currency Z-US$ Does Not Exist". So, no values for that foreign company are returned.
I don't get it. Who cares if that entity doesn't use Z-US$? More specifically, why does Management Reporter care and what's the fix?
Also, these foreign companies have USD as their originating currency--not Z-US$. Is that going to be a problem, if I decide to continue to use the Legacy Provider instead of the Data Mart?
Now, I did not get this error, as long as I logged in to a company that did not have "-Curr" appended to the company ID.
True, the reporting tree contains company IDs ending in "-Curr". But, again, as long as I did not login to such a company the report generated data.
Here's one other thing that I noticed. If I need to report on any company from the tree that is a US-based company with Z-US$ as its functional currency, I indeed must log into a company that has "-Curr" at the end of the ID! Otherwise, I get no data for that company.
This is strange. I need to have consistency.
Can I not report on companies all at once, regardless of their functional currency? Why should the "-Curr", at the end, make a difference?
If someone could help me with some insights, I'd greatly appreciate it! :)
Thanks!
John
