If all you need to do is change the discount date and due date, this is all that you need to do. This feature was added to gp so that a business could position an item correctly on the ATB. Imagine you gave a customer an extra 45 days to pay, you'd want to move it out of the delinquent group until it moved past the extra 45 days.
